Pretty good. Taking advantage of the nice weather to do some soil prep for planting.

( she honestly switches to calling him as she looks for it, enjoy the rustling of other files that she's dragged home. that may include hope files )

[ He picks up easily enough, and grins as he sits back, humming softly. ]

I do. Mostly herbs and ingredients for my magic, but also some food plants.

I suppose I've not considered what you might need for it.

( though he can't see the lays the file on her bed as she sits on it, phone nearby, opening it to read it )

Okay, let's see--

( it starts off very basic, her name, the housing and job that they'd assigned her, those parts she'd already read. a little further down it comes to her powers, something that gets a curious hum to. and then she reads further, the medical information and-- )

Oh, shit.

( that's how they'd aptly chosen her powers -- they knew enough )

[ He grins. And nods. ] My magic uses ingredients, like science does.

[ At her swear, he sits up, voice going worried. ]

Mrs. S? Are you okay?

I'm fine.

( though her words are a mix of concern and confusion, processing exactly what she's reading and she swears again, much quieter this time before sighing )

It's answered a few questions.

Alright. Is that a good thing?

[ His concern is still there, but he sits again. Even as he glances aside at his emergency bag. He can teleport to her if he needs to, if the situation requires it. ]

I don't know.

( she's quiet for a moment, a little more processing )

I suppose I should have expected it, after all we spoke about the creator of this world, of gods.

( and who else would know all of this but an omniscient being? )

[ He nods as he listens, settling back and closing his eyes. ]

Do you want to talk about it?

[ Meaning, he won't push her to tell him, but he is there, if she needs someone. ]

( there's another moment, a heavier sigh before she speaks again )

I have three powers.

( talking about her powers didn't necessarily mean she had to explain where they came from )

Empathy as you know but also-- reading someone's aura and the ability to exert my will to calm someone.

Mmmhmm. Useful powers, and ones that could come in handy at H.O.P.E., as well as in life here.

[ His voice is gentle. ]

You could help a lot of people.

( it's a little quieter, partly because she's still reeling a little from the rest of the information in her file, partly because she's thinking about it all )

I suppose I'm still adjusting to the fact that powers are a common knowledge here, that they're used without consequence.

( there's definitely a conflict in what she says, considering she's talked both about not having a power before being here but also in her knowledge of powers and use, how familiar she is already in control of her own )

[ Harry blinks at that, the contradiction striking him, and he opens his mouth, then shuts it firmly. He once was the kind who would push that, but two things stop him. First, he cares about this woman. And second, he now deals with people who are wary and hurt by life and the multiverse a lot. It has taught him wariness and care in return. ]

Of course. If I can help, please let me know. I have some skill in helping people realize their powers more fully.

[ That is a little of his job, after all. ]

[ There is an internal sigh, but he nods as he speaks. ]

I always am, but I simply meant that there might also not be a use for what I can do.

( and even if there was that kind of situation would she use her powers? before it was stepping over a line she shouldn't use, now it seemed almost as if it was accepted )

Influencing someone that way also takes away their own free will.

[ Harry blinks, then nods. ]

Maybe, but those abilities sound much like ones that could be useful in any number of situations.

[ At her assertion, he did not hesitate, but spoke. ] only if you use it to do it that way. Calming someone who is having a breakdown, or panicking, that is not removing free will. Calming someone who has flown into rage, that is not removing free will, it is restoring their ability to think clearly.

[ Harry speaks passionately and quietly, his voice taking on a deeper timbre. ]

This is not to say you should do it all the time, but if someone needs help and cannot regain control, those powers could be a definite help for those whose powers are tied to their emotions.

( it's still all a little uncomfortable, a line that falls too close to what she's always known, something that she's going to have to think about, and he likely could guess that she's thinking about what he's saying with the call falling silent for a moment )

It's certainly a lot to think about, how it could affect people here or their powers.

( that's something that she's never had to think of before with her powers )

Power always comes with that need to worry. How much to do, how little, and when? Its never easy.

I think... I think that some of it's a product of where I'm from, what I've always known and believed.

( which isn't something that he might be thinking of, unless he's figured there's more to her story than her words would give )

How this world is and how people act, that they can freely use powers without question conflicts with what I've always known.

Not knowing much about your world or life before this, all I can say is maybe you are here to learn a new way?

I think that's something I need time with, to accept what I now know and how to go about with it.

[ He smiles softly to himself as he stretches. ]
