I know you said you want to leave it behind, but I thought you might enjoy controlling when you do and don't have wings. The earrings in the box are magical. Putting them on will give you wings and the ability to fly. It's an illusion and a hover charm, but they should feel real enough. -J.S.
Wings are only part of being an angel but it isn't everything, it isn't what makes our being. To have solely wings would be wrong, it would feel wrong.
And whilst they're not everything about me they are a physical symbol of what I gave up. Something I carry with me.
